Do I need an in-home inspection?All home installations are different. You get quoted accurately based on your specific needs. Our electrician will work with you on your install and give you a detailed quote on what is needed, and answer any of your questions.

How long does the in-home quote take?Our electricians take between 15-30 minutes, depending on your property and the current load of your home's electrical system.

What does it cost for an in-home quote?There is NO charge for your personal in-home quote.

What do I need to prepare before the in-home quote?We will need access to your electrical panel and the location where you would like your charger installed.

Will the electrician provide a complete quote after the in-home inspection?Yes, you will get a detailed invoice emailed to you directly after EV Home Hook Up's electrician performs your in-home inspection.

What brands do you install?We install top of the line EV chargers for all EV's from the best EV charger manufacturers. (If you already have a charger we can even install that one for you)

What's the difference between a hardwired and plug-in charger?A plug-in charger can be plugged into a 240v wall Plug, while hardwired chargers are directly connected to your electrical panel. Both are effective and we can discuss these options with you, but the right option for you depends on the specific hardware and materials that you would like us to install.

What do I need to know about my electrical panel?Most single family homes built after 1970's are usually capable of having an EV home charger installed without modification or upgrades. We will inspect your home's electrical panel and let you know at the time we do your inspection.

Can I choose where my EV charger is installed?Yes, but the final location will depend on a few different things, electrical infrastructure, safety and permitted regulations, cable length, etc.

How soon after the initial in-home inspection can the installation be scheduled?Once we get your electrical permit our electrician can schedule your install, this process usually takes a week or two.

How long will the installation process take?Usually a Level 2 home charger installation takes 2-5 hours, but this can vary depending on the complexity of the installation.

Do I need any permits or inspections for the installation?In most cases, a permit is required for the installation of an EV home charger. We will let you know after our inspection if a permit is necessary and if so, we will handle all of the permit process for you. Inspections are typically required as part of the permitting process after installation. Our electrician will walk you through expectations for the inspection process.

Is there a warranty on the charger and installation work?Yes, Our EV chargers come with a two year manufacturer's warranty and our installation work is backed by a separate warranty for 2-years.
